Chapter 26 - Ii's New Ability

Gokun kept a close eye on Ii, still not knowing what he was up too.  Waiting and watching for a while was when he realized that the fight with Ii did drain him a little.
I thought I wasn't that drained, he thought.
His arms were quite tired, and so were his legs.  
I guess it really wasn't that bad.  
He kept watching, but for some reason was getting more tired while he waited.  
If I'm still, my strength should be gathering.
Gokun then felt his mind growing tired, and his legs gave way.  He fell down onto the ground, exhausted.  Gokun tried to get up, but his arms were so weak.  His breathing was also slowing down.  He turned his head to Ii.
"What are you doing to me?!"
"How do you like my new ability?  I can suck energy from my surroundings, like what Son Goku use to do...I drained the energy out of you and add it to mine."
Gokun was so shocked at how one turn of event changed everything.  He tried to get up again, but his strength...it was almost all gone.  
After great force, he was able to get up.  Ii was slightly pleased.  Gokun walked over and threw some punches, but they were slow and weak now.  Ii maneuvered without any trying, and kicked Gokun's knees, making him fall over.  Gokun tried to get up again, but he couldn't no more.  He lost his Super Saiya-jin form and eventually fainted.  Ii laughed, and continued to drain his energy, hoping to kill him at the same time.

"AH! Since when could he do that?!" Kaioshin demanded.
He picked up the crystal ball and brought it to where the Elder Kai and the young fighters were sitting.  
"Gokun-san!" Nion cried, "What's happening to him?"
"Ii's draining his energy." Kaioshin told them.
"He doesn't look like he has much time left." G said.
Gokou stood up.
"I want to go save Gokun."
But Elder Kai grabbed his wrist and sat him down.
"Stop jumping into things.  Youths....have you forgotten?  Gokun is stronger than you are now.  Without completing this ritual, you'll all have no chance."
They all turned aside with worried faces when Kaioshin looked back at the crystal ball.
"Hold on.  It looks like we're not down for the count yet."
They all looked up confused at Kaioshin.

Ii had his foot on Gokun's back when Piccolo, Thyme, Sage and Rue arrived to help their fallen comrade.  Linni and Pastri were told to go back to the Lookout to report to everyone else what was going on.
"You think you have any chance against me?" Ii asked.
They all looked at Ii, but they knew the chances were low...especially with his new ability, but they had to buy some time.  For what?  Hope.

Kaioshin's lighten face soon turned dark.
"Even with these brave fighters, the possibility of victory is still low.  Real low.  Just by going to help Gokun, they're might be killed too."
The hope started to disappear, and the bright faces turned worried once again.  Elder Kai then had an idea.  He turned to Kaioshin.
"Young Kai, can you go get my manga over there?"
Kaioshin began yelling at why he was going to read at a time like this, but Elder Kai argued back.  After getting his manga, he turned to a certain page which had a small paper packet inside.  They all looked on in wonder as he opened it and took out three tablets, two were orange and one was pink.  
He handed the two orange ones to Gokou and Vegeta.  
"What are they?" Vegeta asked.
"Just eat them.  It will make you stronger."
Gokou, knowing that his friends were in trouble ate his, but Vegeta declined.  After remembering his promise to his sister, he ate his too.
"I don't feel any stronger..." said Vegeta.
All of a sudden, the two fell into a deep sleep.
"Elder Kai!  What is the meaning of this?!" Kaioshin demanded.
"Calm down..."
"You said it'll make them stronger, but all it did was put them to sleep." G added.
"It will make them stronger after I take this pink tablet." Kaioshin told them.
"What do you mean?" Nion asked for the group.
"Being awake uses energy, so if they're asleep, they can conserve it.  This pink pill is a special one.  I made it after that ugly witch turned me into what I am today and forever.  It was just for fun, but its a pill which will turn me into my young self for a few hours."
"And what are you suppose to achieve through this Elder?" asked Kaioshin.
"I can exert more energy into this ritual and complete it much faster.  Ah, the days of my powerful youth.  Firstly, I was going to only use this pill when I've got a date, but it seemed to never happen..."
Everyone then had sweat drops.
"How much longer should it take then?" Kaioshin asked.
"Probably two hours."
Elder Kai told G and Nion to wait aside for now for the good of Vegeta and Gokou.  They stood watching as the two unconscious boys lay resting on the grass.  Gokou was pretending to eat in his dream, and his mouth was moving away.  Vegeta kept kicking and moving his arms like he was fighting.  
Elder Kai ate his tablet and his youth returned.  Kaioshin smiled and told G and Nion that when Elder Kai was younger, he must be gentleman-like and mature from all the stories he use to hear.  The two nodded in awe.  
The young Elder Kai then stood above Vegeta and Gokou like a statue of spunk, when he began prancing around, performing all these silly ritual moves, singing silly songs and making all these funny faces.
"And you were saying?" G said to Kaioshin, who just watched his ancestor in amazement.

Linni and Pastri finally arrived at the Lookout.  Outside stood Dende, Popo, Pan and Bobulla.
"What are you both doing here aunt?" Linni asked.
"This was the best place to come too, to find out what the heck is going on right now.  I'm so worried."
"How is everyone? Are they okay?" asked Pan.
Linni and Pastri told them what was currently going on, and Bobulla came close to fainting.  Just at that moment, Android 18 and Hazell exited the Room of Time and Spirit.  
"You're stronger Hazell." Pastri told her.
Hazell looked at her friends.
"You both looked roughed up." she joked.
"Something is different about Ii-Shenron..." 18 said.
They were then both filled in with the happenings, and realized even after all that training in the Room, they won't be strong enough against Ii-Shenron.  Android 18 was real annoyed at their efforts, and started talking about her past.
"In my days when I was a powerful android.  Those Z-fighters were so afraid of 17, 16 and I.  Even though I never wanted to be an android, I wish for once that Gero made me much stronger."
Bobulla looked at 18.
"Did you say you're an android...an artificial human being?  Gero, did you say?  I heard about him in my books.  You're one of his creations?"
"Yes she is, but 18's not fully mechanical." Hazell told her.
Bobulla smiled, and walked up to Android 18.
"Do you really want to help kill Ii-Shenron?"
"Of course I do," 18 said, "It was evil like this that took Kuririn away from me so many times."
Bobulla looked up at Hazell, and she moved her lips to tell her he was her husband more than 100 years ago.
Bobulla smiled.
"Oh I see.  Is that why you never age 18?  I remember seeing a photo of you now in my family photo book.  It was handed down from generation to generation.  It was a family and friends outing."
"What are you getting at?" 18 asked.
"What if I told you I can promise you more strength?"
"What?"

Piccolo, Thyme, Rue and Sage were holding out, but their attacks weren't making any real marks on Ii-Shenron.  The fiend only laughed at their futile efforts.  
"Stop it, you're making me laugh!" Ii joked.
He then raised his arms and with a blast of energy, the fighters were flung backwards.
"We can't give up." Piccolo told his friends.

Android 18 and everyone else took a good long stare at Bobulla who was just pulling a big smile.
"What do you mean by that?" 18 inquired.
"I maybe can't help by fighting Ii, but I can help in another way.  I'm the head president of Capsule Corporation, and I know plenty of things that my other ancestors didn't know.  One of my specialties is artificial intelligence.  If you let me 18, I can upgrade you into a stronger being so you can go help my son and his friends to defeat Ii-Shenron.  What do you say?"
Android 18 had a minute to think about it.  She didn't want to be subjected to anymore experiments.  She had enough of it when she was with Doctor Gero.  Then again, it was for a good cause and she was given a choice.  Android 18 thought of Kuririn and Marron, and looked at Hazell.  
"Okay then.  Lets give it a go." 
Hazell was surprised at 18's decision.  Bobulla smiled, and together they flew back to Capsule Corporation to start the upgrade in power.
