Chapter 36 - Afterwards

Since the defeat of Ii-Shenron, a few months passed without any problems of evil threatening the Earth.  
At Capsule Corporation, Vegeta and Nion were watching television when Bobulla walked into the room.
"I thought you have both seen this episode before.  Why are you watching it again?"
"Yeah, its being aired again, but their isn't anything else to do." Vegeta said, pointing out the window, "Its still raining."
Bobulla sighed.
"Its been raining a week straight.  This monsoon weather is killing the plants outside.  They need sunlight to live too."
Vegeta and Nion had turned back to the television, eating chocolate.  Bobulla sighed, and turned off the television.
"Mummmm" both whined.
Bobulla put her hands together and pulled a big smile.
"How about we go have dinner in town?"
"But isn't it raining mum?" Vegeta said.
"So is it like this Vegeta? You will take on the strongest people in the universe because they don't scare you, but you won't go out for dinner because its raining?"
Vegeta cringed, and Nion giggled.
Bobulla handed their coats to them, and told the maids to take the night off.  Since it was raining, they decided to take a car in, rather then fly.  In the city, despite the rain, there were still many people around and about.  The family decided to head to the cafe five-storeys high.  It was a rich place, and Bobulla told her kids that their dad use to come here with her all the time for their dates.  Vegeta and Nion weren't in the mood for a fancy restaurant, so Bobulla took them to the more typical cafe located on the same floor.  A waiter came out to take their order.
"What would it be?"
"Two cheese burgers, a milkshake, apple pie, orange juice, three bowls of noodles, bottled water, rice, two plates of stir fry, seafood, fruit cake, ice-cream, chicken dishes and hot tomato soup."
The man wrote it down, as Vegeta turned to his mother and sister.
"So what are you both going to eat?" 
Bobulla and Nion laughed, as the waiter had a sweat drop.  Bobulla then looked outside and saw a few familiar faces.
"There's Pan-san, Gokou and Pastri."
"I wonder what they're up too?" Nion asked, but their order already came out, and the three ate like crazy.

Pan and Pastri waited outside the movie theatre as Gokou walked off to a nearby building.  
"Where is he going Grandma?"
"He's going to get his friend."
Shortly after, Gokou returned with Gokun.  They were talking away about the movie, but Gokun didn't like the fact that they were going to pay for him.  Gokun knew he was an orphan who still lived at the same orphanage trying to unlock his past while helping out, but not with much luck.  He had no money, and only got by with enough food the orphanage had, but he was humble.  He didn't want his friends to pay for him.
"Its okay Gokun.  Its no problem for us."
They all waited in line, and paid for their movie.  As they walked inside, Hazell and Linni passed them, just finished watching a movie themselves, holding bags of clothing.
"Hey, Linni! Hazell!" Pastri called.
"Hi guys!"
"What are you both up too?"
"Shopping and the movies.  Too bad you couldn't come with us Pastri." Linni said.
"It doesn't matter.  Next time.  Anyway, I'm having fun hanging out with my Grandma." Pan smiled, and they all said goodbye and went on their way.

Linni and Hazell walked outside and put up their umbrellas.
"Pastri loves her Grandma a lot doesn't she?" Linni said.
"She does, but we better get going.  Aunt 18 told me to wait for her near town square."
"Why do you call her aunt?  She's not technically your auntie."
"I know, but what else would I call her?  She's a great ancestor, and I don't want her to feel ancient."
Linni laughed.
They both reached the road, and pressed the button to cross.  As the two chatted away, they heard a familiar voice.
"Linni! Hazell!"
They looked across the road to see Sage and Thyme.
:"Hey you guys!  What are you doing here?  Its far from home." Hazell called.
"We're meeting Rue later on tonight.  He's going to get Piccolo, and we're going to show him around the city."
"Where're you all going to meet?"
"Music Store in 10 minutes."
The crossing light turned green, and they crossed.
"Tell them we said hi!" Linni told them, and they all continued on their way.

Sage and Thyme successfully crossed the road and whined about the weather.  
"When is it going to stop raining?"
"That's why Kame-sennin stayed home tonight.  Its clear there, not raining like here."
The two finally reached the music store, and saw Rue and Piccolo standing inside.
"Have you heard the new music here?  Its not bad.  Love rock music."
"Its loud." Piccolo commented.
Thyme laughed.
"Where did you get the clothes from?"
Piccolo was wearing a cap, pants, long sleeve shirt and sport shoes.  He glowed red.
"Rue let me borrow them, but they're a  little tight."
"You should've gave Piccolo my clothes.  They're bigger and they look better." Thyme said.
Rue crossed his arms.
"Don't poke fun.  I might be the shortest one here, but I rock better than any of you!"
They all laughed.
"Didn't you invite G to come along Sage?" Rue asked.
"I did, but the dude is busy back at home with his work or something like that.  Anyway, he said that the flight would be bad since its raining like mad."
"G loves that type of stuff." Piccolo said.
"Yeah," Rue shrugged, "Don't worry about him, lets all go to the bridge and peg some rocks."
"Then we can go to the motor car exhibition.  I heard that they're showcasing the newest cars out this year.  I want to check out what the new designs are for the turbos.  They say they can make them twice as powerful.  I have to see how they do it." Sage told them.
They agreed.
"You like your cars Sage." said Thyme.
"Yeah, and I wouldn't mind working with them when I get older too."
The 4 walked off, talking away and joking around.  It seems life is going well for everyone now, and are all enjoying a peaceful life.  They deserved this very much, and so the happy years continued.
