Chapter 5 - Late Again

Gokou Jr handed over the zenni to the shop keeper as he gave him the soya sauce in a brown paper bag.  
"Thank you" he said.
He walked outside and frowned.  His stomach was growling from being so hungry for so long.  Gokou was about to fly off when he saw a food stand.  How much he felt like he wanted to eat meant nothing...he didn't have enough money left to buy himself some food.  Gokou eyed the yummy hamburgers and drinks before noticing a little boy, smaller than he, was hungry.  The boy tried to get some food but the franchise owner fumed up and began yelling.  Gokou tried to calm the man down, but he kept on screaming at the poor boy.  Gokou was appalled and took the boy by the shoulder and led him away.  He wasn't fully successful though, the little child thought Gokou was trying to catch him so he fled.  Of course he meant no harm, and called out to him.  The boy kept on running and so Gokou followed him holding some spare change he wanted to give to the boy.
When Gokou thought he cornered the boy, he was confronted by a figure.
"What do you want?" 
Gokou innocently opened up his hand to reveal some money.  He explained the situation and said he wanted to give the boy his left over money.  There was a slight pause before the cloaked figure stepped back.
"It's you!" 
Gokou was surprised.  He had no idea what the heck was going on.  He watched as the figure removed his hood to reveal his face.  Gokou then finally realized it was that teenager he and Vegeta ran into beforehand.  Knowing this made Gokou smile.

The teenager led Gokou to a spot hidden from the city where poor children were looked after.  He smiled to know such a place existed.  The teenager turned around and smiled at Gokou.
"You never cease to give do you?"
Gokou smiled in embarrassment and told him he believed that it is the right thing to do.  The teenager brought the child to a woman who gave him warm clothes and food. 
"What is this place?" asked Gokou.
"It's a home for poor and homeless children.  I help out around here...do a good job of it too.  Sometimes I go deep and get myself into trouble to help them."
Gokou smiled when he finally realized that the last time when he stole bread was for a good reason.  He was trying to help a hungry child.  The teenager confirmed this and told him that he had to do it to gain the child's trust.  The lady then told the teenager that she had found some new information for him and it was sitting in her office.  The boy gleamed and rushed into the office with Gokou behind him.  He watched as the boy opened up some documents before his face looked rather disappointed. 
"What's the matter?" Gokou asked.
The teenager sat down and sighed.
"You can't win them all..."
The teenager gave Gokou a sorrowful look before explaining his circumstances. 
"My name is Gokun...I'm an orphan here in the city.  I was raised in an orphanage until I got a job here.  I like it here.  You really feel like you make a difference you know?  I made a deal with the owners here.  I help, get paid a little in return for them to help me find out about my past.  It's been 5 years already and still their is nothing that helps me remember.  The owners try their best for me, I love that, but still it's not enough."
Gokou's eyes widen.  Seriously this was something he wasn't expecting.  Gokou watched the sad face before he forced a smile at Gokou.
"Come on, follow me.  Lets get something to eat."
Gokou laughed.  He was very hungry!

Back at Capsule Corporation, Linni had just arrived back home.  She called out to her cousins but with no response.  Linni turned around to her friend she invited over for dinner.
"Looks like no one's here Hazell."
Linni led her friend into the living room and they both sat down and talked for a while.
"So your home is like this too?" Hazell asked curiously.
Linni nodded and opened a bag of corn chips and some dip for them to eat when they watch some hired out movies.  Linni had met Hazell over the internet a few years ago.  They talked through chat rooms and the Capsule Corporation visual phones.  Things always got in the way for them to meet, but this time they successfully got together for the first time to have a fun school vacation.  Hazell was also a rich girl who lived in Satan City with a relative in a huge mansion.  She was rather tough and could fight well.  Much better than Pastri and Linni could.  
"So what have you been doing before I came?" Linni asked.
"Just hanging out with a relative.  Just the other day, we both went shopping and had dinner in town."
"Wow, that sounds cool.  She taught you how to fight right?"
Hazell nodded.  It might also be a little surprising to know that Hazell is the strongest out of the girls this time around, but when Linni says that to her, Hazel always jumps in to say her relative was way more powerful than she is.  The girls kept chatting away not being aware that Bobulla had come outside.
"So this is Hazell?"
The girls were given a fright.  They didn't know someone was home.  Linni introduced Hazell to her aunt Bobulla.  
"Do you know were Vegeta, G and Nion are?" Bobulla asked.
"I don't know.  Did you look outside?"
"Yes I have."
"They probably took Nion out for an ice-cream or something."  Linni said.  Bobulla sighed and looked at her watch.
"You're probably right Linni.  Anyway, I have no time to worry just yet.  I only came outside for a drink.  My capsule prototype and blueprints aren't ready just yet.  I had to push the conference a few hours later.  Well, it was nice to meet you Hazell."
"Like wise Bobulla-san." Hazell said.
Linni watched her aunt exit and reached for the phone.  Frantically she dialed.  
"What are you so worried about Linni?  You said that your cousins were fine."
"Yeah, but if I know them, they've gotten themselves into some type of trouble."

Vegeta and G continued to fly over the city, still not succeeding in finding Nion, when G's cell phone rang.  He picked it up and sure enough it was Linni.
"Where are you guys? And don't tell me you took Nion for an ice-cream!"
"Um..." G began, not wondering what to say, "Listen Linni, Vegeta and I are looking for Nion.  He accidentally lost her."
"WE accidentally lost her!" Vegeta yelled.
"Yeah WE" G nervously added.
"You got to be joking me!  Vegeta's mum was just looking for you guys.  I had to make something up!"
"Thanks Linni, we both appreciate that." G told her.
"Yeah yeah..."
"Linni, can you please stall aunt until we find Nion?" G asked so nicely.  Linni began yelling once again before agreeing and hung up the phone.  G wiped some sweat off his face.  That was too close for comfort.
"We better find her quick!" G said.

Meanwhile, Pan and Pastri are at home waiting for Gokou Jr who is eating away with his new buddy, Gokun.  But is this a time to sit still and gorge?  The villains are busy rounding up the dragon balls...they already tracked down 4 of them!
